Dîners de Ma Mère l’Oye (1882-1914)

Designated by Eugène Rolland as a “fraternal dinner” for folklorists from Paris, the provinces and abroad, the Dinners de Ma Mère l’Oye (Dinners of My Mother Goose) were monthly meetings designed to facilitate encounters and exchanges of ideas between folklorists. Under the care of Paul Sébillot, they eventually became the dinners of the members of the Société des traditions populaires. Their origin was to be the subject of a controversy between Henri Gaidoz and Paul Sébillot.
