Cesky lid (1892- )
Founded in 1891-1892, Cesky lid (The Czech People) combined, as did many of its counterparts, folk interest and national affirmation, becoming a reference in collections on Czech and Slovak language and traditions, especially rural ones, with an important component of ethnomusicology, but making room for other fields, such as archaeology. The journal, which is still published, has undergone both scientific and political transformations during the 20th century, while remaining a reference publication.
