Sudan Notes and Records (1918-1974)
Sudan Notes and Records was created in Anglo-Egyptian Sudan in 1918. This biannual periodical publication covered the colonial period and survived until 1974. It included a wide range of contributions, both from amateurs and leading figures in British social anthropology, such as E. E. Evans-Pritchard, and allowed many British colonial agents — especially the military — to publish their own ethnographic, historical and other texts.
