Published between 1883 and 1911 by Henniger Brothers in Germany and by Welter in Paris, the journal Kryptadia was to comprise twelve volumes. It was born from the meeting, in the milieu of Eugène Rolland and Henri Gaidoz, of folklorists who wanted to publish, anonymously and without censorship, the texts of “obscene folklore” that they collected.
