Published between 1883 and 1911 by Henniger Frères in Germany and Welter in Paris, the journal Kryptadia comprises twelve volumes. It was born from the meeting, around Eugène Rolland and Henri Gaidoz, of folklorists who wanted to publish, anonymously and without censorship, the texts of “obscene folklore” that they collected.
