Published by Eugène Rolland at Maisonneuve from 1882, the Almanach des traditions populaires consists of three small volumes published annually until 1884. Limited in number, each volume offers a directory of folklorists and a bibliography of recent publications accompanied by a calendar (with a folk theme for 1882, Breton for 1883 and Basque for 1884) and transcriptions of collections of stories, songs and legends.
