Article published in three issues in Le Tour du Monde, October 28, November 4 and 11, 1899. The author shares his experience of magical practices and forms of devotion in a region, Corrèze, that had become familiar to him. He had stayed there regularly since he was seduced by the site of the Gimel Waterfalls around which he was to build a landscaped park and live out his life.
Consult the watercolours painted by Gaston Vuillier whose engravings are reproduced in the article.
