Millien, Achille (1838-1927)

Achille Millien (1838-1927) was a French writer, poet and folklorist. Between 1860 and 1924, he published about twenty volumes of poems inspired by his homeland, the French region of Nivernais. From 1877 onwards, he began collecting there his first tales and songs, which he published in folklore journals such as Mélusine,La Tradition and Revue des Traditions populaires. In 1895, he founded the Revue du Nivernais (1896-1910).
