Paris, Gaston, 1877. « De l’étude la poésie populaire en France », Mélusine, tome 1, pp. 1-6.

In this article, which opens the columns of Mélusine, Gaston Paris calls on the French to collect these “scorned treasures” that are folk poems. France is, in fact, practically the last country in Europe to have approached the study and publication of this type of poetry, even though it represents a real scientific interest.
