This is an article by Paul Sébillot, published in 1883 in the Almanach des traditions populaires created by Eugène Rolland “to serve as a link between people all over the world who are involved in the science of folk traditions” (preface to the first volume, 1882). The article mentions the creation oh the Dinners of My Mother Goose, reports on the first four dinners, from February to April 1882, gives the 1883 calendar and invites those who wish to participate to register with Loys Brueyre or Sébillot himself. This article was to be be one of the pieces mentioned in the context of the controversy between Henri Gaidoz and Paul Sébillot on the origins of the folk tradition movement and its promoters. It also comments on Antonio Machado y Álvarez’s proposal to hold an international congress of folklorists in Paris on 14th February 1884, the anniversary of the creation of the dinners.
